The difference between Color protecting/ Color enhancing/ Anti-yellow
Date 2024.03.15

The principle of hair dyeing:

Hair dyeing can be simply divided into temporary, semi-permanent and permanent.

  1. Temporary hair dyeing: Mainly uses macromolecular pigments to attach to the hair scales to give the hair different colors. It has poor adhesion and can be removed by washing your hair about 1 to 3 times.
  2. Semi-permanent hair dyeing: Use dyes with small molecules that can penetrate the hair cuticle. The dye is accumulated in the cortex layer to achieve the hair dyeing effect. It requires multiple dyeings to achieve the best effect. The dye is acidic.
  3. Permanent hair dye: It is mainly divided into two agents: alkali agent and hydrogen peroxide. Mix the two agents before use. When hydrogen peroxide encounters an alkali, it will produce oxygen, which will cause the melanin to fade; the alkali will open the hair scales, allowing the dye to enter the cortex.

From the process of semi-permanent and permanent hair dyeing, we can know that hair dyeing is a destructive process. If you do not take good care after dyeing, it may cause hair to fade quickly and become frizzy.

Color protectimg shampoo

It can delay the speed of hair fading. It is usually weakly acidic or neutral, maintains the acid-base balance of hair, and avoids excessive opening of hair scales, causing pigment loss in the cortex. It also contains antioxidant ingredients, such as vitamin E, to reduce the oxidation rate on the hair surface and is suitable for unbleached hair.

Frequency of use: 2~3 times/week

Color enhancing shampoo

Pigments are added to shampoo to replenish lost pigments to increase color saturation. Suitable for high-brightness hair color or after bleaching. After use, use regular shampoo to remove excess pigment.

Frequency of use: 1~2 times/week

Anti-yellow shampoo

A trace amount of blue-green pigment is added to the shampoo, and the content will be less than that of the color-enhancing shampoo. It can complement and offset the yellow color of hair after fading, making the overall color less yellow. Suitable for hair colors with higher brightness.

Frequency of use: 1~2 times/week

Recommended color protection and repair ingredients:

PROTESILLH :

Helps repair hair surface and alleviate damage after dyeing and perming. At the same time, it can form a protective film around the hair to improve the color retention effect.

Prodew 500:

Rich in PCA, alkaline, neutral, acidic and other amino acids

PCA→Color holding

Alkaline amino acids →increase strength and gloss

Neutral amino acids →increase silky feel

Acidic amino acids→increase combability
